Some Information and Common Sponsorship Questions
How do I pay for my child’s sponsorship?
You have probably filled out a Direct Debit Request form to allow deductions to be made from your bank or credit card account. We will process your request using the facilities of Ezi Debit Australia Pty Ltd, a company that provides banking transaction services.
If you have requested your deductions to be taken from a savings or statement account the description on your account statement will appear as ‘TAIGUM GLOBAL IM”. Because of system constraints, if your deduction is from a credit card account the description on your statement will be “EZI DEBIT AUSTRALIA”. Funds deducted will be forwarded to Taigum Global Impact.

Unless you have indicated a preference regarding dates for the deductions to be made, your deduction will normally be processed on or around the 20th of each month. When the due date falls on a weekend or public holiday the processing will move to the next working day. If you have asked for your deductions to be made on a particular date, they will normally be processed on that date. However if the date requested has already passed, the first deduction will be processed on the earliest available date and subsequent deductions on the date that you requested.
Based on the information I have I understand that the first deduction from your account will be made in February 2010. I will ask that you be advised if this is not the case.

Our orphanage projects are registered with Global Development Group, an organization approved by the Australian government for issuing tax deductible receipts. Receipts if requested will be issued by Global Development Group in time for the completion of your tax return.
Can I write to my child/children?
Yes, of course. I am not sure of the children’s level of English so please make any letters easy to read as they may have to be translated.
Can I send Christmas and Birthday presents?
We have revised our earlier policy on this to say that we would prefer gifts not be sent to individual children because some children get gifts and others don’t. Rather, we would suggest that if you wish to send a Christmas or Birthday gift to your child that you send a monetary donation. This can be marked for “Child Spons Bthday”, “Child Spons Chrmas” and will be used for the benefit of all the children.
We will send it to the board members at the orphanage to be used at their discretion. This will make sure that some children don’t miss out and also ensure that we don’t cause the children to become materialistic and start asking for gifts as I have seen happen in other orphanages. Sponsors who do not come to Taigum Community Church can send donations in the form of a cheque or do a direct deposit into our bank account Taigum Global Impact, BSB 064164, A/c 904063.
Can I sponsor more than one child?
You can sponsor as many children as you wish.
Your own children will enjoy the opportunity of learning about a child/children in another national and culture.
