Casa Segura - Bolivia

Bolivia is a country that lies more or less in the centre of South America. It is the poorest nation in South America, but very rich with culture and many natural resources. A rapidly growing and disturbing problem that Bolivia faces is that of the future of their children. Every day more and more children enter life on the streets because they have been abandoned, orphaned or they are escaping physical, psychological, sexual and alcohol abuse within the family. The numbers of children living in the slums of the street has grown to an astounding 22,000. This has allowed generations of families to form in the street, mothers with daughters, daughters with their babies, mostly all addicted to some form of drug or crime.

Casa Segura is being established to meet the needs of some of these children in the Amazon Region of the country. The orphanage will initially cater for the needs of 50 children and eventually up to 200.

The philosophy of Casa Segura is to provide orphans and street children of Bolivia with the abundant life available through Jesus Christ. We will provide these Godly principles along with a family structure, education and skills that will lead to opportunities in later life.

During this stage of construction we will be working at building relationships with the street children as well as other government and non-government organisations. The ministry to the children in this stage includes talking to them, becoming their friend, and introducing them to Jesus, as well as providing basic needs of food, clothing, and medical care.

Following the opening of the church, the children will join us each week for Sunday School and lunch.

During the second stage of construction we will continue to build relationships with the street children by working with them in the street and through the church.

Following the completion of the second stage of construction the school will be opened and will cater for local children from the jungle and street children who would not otherwise go to school.

Third Stage Construction

During the third stage of construction we will continue to build relationships with the street children by working with them in the street and through the church. Also the school will be operating with approximately 20 students from the street and the local area.

Orphanage Opening

Initially 50 orphans and abandoned street children chosen by the local government authorities will move into the orphanage. They will be provided with a family structure, education, godly principles, and life and trade skills.
