Rod & Jan Best
Rod and Jan have been married for thirty four years and have two daughters, Sarah and Elizabeth and four grandchildren, Braden, Lilly, Liza, and Blake. They have been involved as pastors on church ministry teams for the last 25 years, first of all at Sutherland Christian Growth Centre, Sydney, then Northside Christian Church, Everton Park and at Oasis Christian Centre (formally Taigum Community Church), Taigum, Brisbane, Australia.
Both Jan and Rod have conducted many worship seminars over the past 20 years. These have been aimed at taking church worship teams to a new level of excellence and anointing in leading God’s people.
Rod has written hundreds of praise and worship songs over the years and produced and arranged four praise and worship albums – “Times of Refreshing”, “Lord I Give You Praise”, “Wings Of The Wind” and “Northside Praise and Worship.” He has also written and directed a number of large musical productions including writing of script, orchestra and vocal scores, and helped to direct the productions and has written a number of books to assist churches to bring their worship teams to a new level. These include “Towards Excellence – Understanding the Keyboard”, “Towards Excellence – Building A Strong Worship Team”, and “Living A Lifestyle Of Worship.”
Since working at Taigum Community Church, the opportunity has opened up for Jan and I to minister in other countries with the view to developing leaders and church worship in these countries. We have so far been to China seven times to work with the Underground churches. We have also been to India four times to evangelize and to develop worship in the churches of that nation.
Rod and Jan are now pastoring Oasis Christian Church in Selebi-Phikwe, Botswana. They are involved in leading worship, preaching, discipling, teaching in the church’s School of the Bible. They have planted a small church out from Oasis Christian Church in Gabarone, the capital of Botswana.
