SEPTEMBER NEWS
Wow can anyone else believe its October?
Well what a month September was. I would like to start by saying I’m so so sorry to all my friends and family at home for the lack of correspondence on my behalf. Life here for the last two months has been so busy, I get to the internet once a week and because the connection is so slow here I find no time to write just read. At least I’m getting all your letters (thanks) and I will get on top of it this month as all the Aussies will have gone home and life will be back to normal again.
Just want to send out a huge big thanks to Maggie. Maggie has gone back to Australia after her year here and we all miss her so much. The month she has been gone seems like a year already. Thanks Maggz for everything you did, and as always busy life doesn’t allow you to see just how much someone does or how much they means till there gone. The kids often talk about you and so do we. Lets keep in touch always.
Speaking of kids we have two new ones and one more coming, that will bring the total of children to 9, and the family keeps growing thanks to GOD. The new little girl is called Priscilla and the new boy is Pongo you can see them in the photos. Pongo is 10 and Pricilla also is 10. Our school had the end of semester sports day last weekend and all the boys were in a dance routine and the soccer team all looking pretty suave in their little green outfits. We spent all weekend in another community 10km down the road what a fantastic time. Great to see our boys getting involved with other kids.
As I mentioned last news we have had a team of six Aussies with us, Catherine and Eli, Joe and Katie, Tammy and Avi. Catherine and Eli have left us after been here two months, guys we already miss you heaps. You were really great people and miss your company already, breaky just isn’t the same They helped us out so much, Eli with all the building and Catherine with kindy, kids, and the clinic. Eli will join us again in November for 7 more weeks and Catherine will head back to the Gold Coast.
Joe, Katie, Avi and Tammy came on their trip with a vision to complete the clinic (mini hospital) and have done a fantastic job. Tammy and Avi have left us last week, and even though it was a short trip they managed to get so much done. Guys it was so nice to get to know you a little more and we have to catch up again when I get home for another visit. Good to hear you are both back safe and sound.
Joe and Katie are still here finishing of the Clinic, we guess it will be all done and ready for the first patient in two weeks more. Seems like they never left since their last trip, they have fit back in so quickly.
I would also like to thank Cath and Katie personally for my crash first aid Corse on drips, stiches and basic first aid. You can see them in the photo with all the medication they brought and bought to get us going and me giving a chook stiches. The clinic is a true blessing from GOD to all the kids and people in the surrounding jungle communities.
Seems like each month now we have a birthday, and this month was Tito and Catherine’s birthdays and we celebrated them in the true Casa Segura tradition with a party and one of Kay’s yummy cakes. Happy birthday guys.
Well hope you are all still enjoying the new website, Rodrigo continues to work on making it better and you will see more changes as we try to make it more user friendly.
Pastor Gary great to see you back up jumping on your new knees. Cant wait to see you in 2010.
Still miss you all heaps back there, praying for the day I can get back to visit. As always Casa Segura would not exist and the orphans would still be homeless without all your prayer and financial support. GOD sees the heart of givers and gives twice in return.
Till next month, take care.
Mik.
